The UK Shareholders’ Association (UKSA) is pleased to provide access to the latest newsletter from the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). Read more to find the link.
UKSA maintains contact with the IASB, the body responsible for International Financial Reporting Standards to which all listed companies in the UK must adhere. Our policy team includes several well-qualified members of the accountancy profession, as well as other experienced investors. We endeavour to influence the IASB’s thinking and although we are at odds with it over how the principle of ‘prudence’ is to be applied to company accounts, we do support its efforts to improve the meaningfulness of company accounts to private investors.
The IASB’s newsletter, Investor Update, aims to make it easier for investors to keep up with changes in the world of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and how those changes may affect their investment perspectives. Each issue profiles recently introduced or change to Standards in the pipeline. They also deal with how they may alter the way in which investors look at companies and analyse performance, as well as highlighting events and publications that are of interest to investors. The IASB hopes to raise awareness in the investment community of the work it does and encourages investors and analysts to interact with it. For the December issue click here
