UKSA's submission to the Inquiry conducted by the UK Parliament's Education Committee has now been published.
The Committee is examining the current state of financial education in England and considering what steps need to be taken to ensure its delivery is improved, that schools and colleges are more confident in its application, and that pupils and students are better equipped for a fast-changing financial and economic world.
UKSA stresses the need for financial education to be free of dominance by the financial sector, as in this extract:
"It is vital that the financial sector is not permitted to have any control over the material that is covered, and that the syllabus is informed by advice from knowledgeable people who are completely independent from the financial sector."
UKSA itself is rigorously independent of the financial sector.
