Dear Members,
UKSA's former director, Roger Lawson, having been banished from UKSA in 2010, has now set up a rival group and is attempting to contact UKSA members directly to market membership of his new group. His new organisation has the stated aim of becoming a private shareholder action group.
You will recall that UKSA members voted in a landslide majority last year against Roger Lawson's proposals for UKSA and the way he wanted the organisation to change.
UKSA has indeed undergone a major transformation over the last 12 months, not in the way Roger had envisaged, but in the way that membership benefits you directly and will continue to benefit you for many years to come.
This transformation and development continues with significant improvements that can only be offered by a fee-based membership organisation to bring individuals together, face-to-face, meeting each other and the companies in which we invest throughout the whole of the UK, not just the London area.
To this end, whilst Roger is offering a free registration of his group (for email contact only), the previous member votes against Mr Lawson's leadership of our organisation speak volumes. I am sure none of you will wish to be part of an organisation (whether free or not) that doesn't meet your aims, desires and objectives for a national representative membership.
To this end, we should all ignore Mr Lawson's letters, invites and emails, or at least put them to some use by recycling them.
As mentioned in the January edition of The Private Investor, I will be visiting each region in the near future to meet every single member where possible and to meet new members going forward.
UKSA has a new generation of leaders, combining energy and longevity with a wealth of experience, knowledge and connection that cannot be matched by rivals. We can all be very proud of our organisation.
To this end, there is UKSA and only UKSA that can truly represent and cater for the needs and views of its members now and in the future.
