The web sites
given on the following pages may be of interest to members. Simply click on the
link to go to the site (use the browser back button to return of course). UKSA accepts no responsibility for the content or use of
these sites. If you notice any failures of the links, or you have
additional suggestions to add to the list, please contact the
Webmaster. Note that these lists
are not claimed to be comprehensive
as there are probably thousands of financially orientated sites aimed at UK
investors, which overlap each other to a lesser or greater extent. Inclusion
in these lists does not imply any recommendation or warranty as to the
accuracy or completeness of the information they provide, but we have
attempted to include the most comprehensive sites and those that are most
widely used, or those that provide a special or unique service.
Links are
spread over the following pages (click on to select):
Regulatory
Bodies, Clearing Services, Stock Exchanges, Legal & Political
Government/Corporate Bonds and Collective
Funds
Stock Market Information Services and Portfolio
Management
Smaller
Companies (AIM,
Plus Markets, VCT and EIS)
Private Investor Associations and Professional Bodies
Foreign Currency, Search Engines and Book Shops
Note that some of these sites require payment for
information and services, or they require registration and/or payment of
a subscription, while others are free - often there is a mixture of some
free information combined with some paid services and the mixture varies
over time with the current trend being to more payment. Free services,
unless they are public bodies, are usually paid for by advertising,
including the dreaded “pop-ups” (particularly bad sites are noted in
that respect).
Stockbroker services are not covered on these pages as there are very
many and they tend to change rapidly - the Investors Chronicle (see
www.investorschronicle.co.uk)
regularly publishes reviews of such
services, and you can search for stockbrokers who offer particular services
in a particular geographic area on the APCIMS web site (see:
www.apcims.co.uk ). Neither has there been any attempt to cover fund management
services, IFAs, mutual funds, insurance companies, private
banking operations and similar services. Any requests to list such services
will be rejected, but some of the sites listed may have associations with or
links to such services and inclusion here implies no recommendation.
