In 2008 it
came to the attention of UKSA that a certain individual was sending
anonymous letters to shareholders of Legal & General having probably
obtained the address of the shareholder from the company register. These
letters make obviously unfounded allegations about the company. Particularly
annoying was the fact that these letters were sometimes either unstamped or
stamped with a 1p stamp, resulting in excess charges that the recipient
often paid. In addition some of these letters included references to the UK
Shareholders Association which might have given the impression that we
supported this campaign.
UKSA has no association with this
individual and we do not support this campaign. If you receive such a
letter, please ignore it.
